German Phrases!!!!? Ok I'm going off to the Vuuv festival in Putlitz Germany on Friday and really need some Phrases. I did a bit of German when I was in High school so I know the basics like Hallo but could do with a brush up also I need to know how to ask things like "Can I have a Beer?!?" "Do you speak English" and anything else I might find useful. Please Please I'm Begging PLEASE DO NOT post anything rude or Dodgey that I can say as I'm the kind of Burk who after a few drinks or when I'm feeling cocky will say them and get nicked or something. So that's why if you could put the phrase and what is it's German Equivalent. Thanks ;-)

Help with some German phrases please? A couple of German people are coming to stay with me tommorow, and I need a bit of help with some useful phrases... Letzten Sommer bin ich in Frankreich gegangen. Unser Hotel war ganz in der nähe des Strandes. Das Wetter in Frankreich war schöner als das in Britannien. Es regnete nie, die Sonne schien und es war warm. Wir haben alte Ruinen der Römer besucht. Ich habe auch viel auf französisch verstanden. Ich habe mich viel gesonnt und entspannt. Mit dem Geld, dass ich verdient habe, habe ich mir Kleider und Ohrringe gekauft. Meiner Meinung nach war es fantastisch, es hat mir sehr gefallen. Normalerweise bleiben wir in den ferien zuhause, weil es für meine Familie zu teuer ist. Nächstes Jahr an Ostern werde ich nach Italien fahren. Does "Nah Dah!" come from the German phrase "Na Ja"? what do you think? English has a lot of slightly mutant German words and phrases, what about this one? sounds similar and the meaning is similar. "Na Ja" means "well, yes", i may have spelt it worng, but i assure you i have not mixed it up with Spannish. The spannish "nada" sounds like a more likely orrigin, what does that mean? and any chance it migrated from german to spannish? p.s. the German is pronounded "nah Yah". wait a minute, "nada" means "zero" or "none"? that sure doesn't fit!
