Public Comments

  1. 1) of them 2) during their sleep (and) through bad luck or carelessness
  2. a preposition shows the relationship between a noun or pronoun and another word-----a prepositional phrase is just a phrase that starts with a preposition--- of is definitely a preposition, 'of them' connects feet and them. through is also a preposition, it connects bad luck to swallow
  3. A prepositional phrase contains a preposition and its object, as well as any modifiers that relate to them. So, for the first one, there are two prep. phrases: "within several feet," (within=preposition, feet=object, several=modifier) and "of them" (of=preposition, them=object) For the second: "During their sleep" and "Through bad luck or carelessness" are both prep. phrases. For the second in this sentence, there are two objects--luck and carelessness.
