I need some help with prepositional phrases- english 11?
I have done these three over and over, and I cant manage to get them correct, here they go. underline the prepositional phrase of the sentence 1.The settlers rationed their supplies of dried meat, vegtables and flour. 2. Tina and Jen were among the finalists. 3.Your birthday is on sunday next year. 4. The world has seen many wars, but the two world wars in the twentieth century have been particularly devastating. Oh this is not homework. Its a work study sheet that I am trying to study, but I didnt have answers for those 3, out of 50. Wow I really dont know who to add! I will make a little draw, ok.

- 1.The settlers rationed their supplies of dried meat, vegtables and flour. 2. among the finalists. 3. on sunday next year. 4. in the twentieth century I do not see a preposition in the first sentence. Do the directions say some may not have one? Oh....I see it after the last poster posted...i guess it has been a while.
- 1. is the hardest.. but if i had to guess i'd say it's "of dried meat, vegetables and flour" 2. among the finalists 3. on sunday 4. in the twentieth century _________________________________________ It's actually really simple. Prepositional phrases are just phrases with propositions in them.. and prepositions are words like in, under, on, around, above, through, etc. for example.. in the house, under the box, around the corner, above the shelf, through the window. I can't believe this is english 11 homework... we did this in like 7th grade.
