help with infinative and prepositional phrases!?

I have a test it english tomorrow over infinitive and preposititonal phrases, (high school) and i really don't understand them at all! please help me understand what they are! thanks so much!

  1. well i don't know infinative but i think i know prepositional phrases though. Ok Prepositional phrases are phrases that begin with a preposition and ends in a noun or pronoun or adjective. ex: to the store prep noun
  2. An infinitive is any verb that is stated as "to ..." Examples: to sing, to run, to think, to be, to work, to sleep, etc. A preposition is a word such as for, toward, from, around, etc., and a prepositional phrase is a phrase that begins with a preposition. Examples: ... for me and my friend ... to school ...around the block ... through the door ...outside the box etc.
  3. an infinitive phrase is a phrase that begins with 'to' such as: to be on time, to enter the store to understand prepositional phrases, one must first know what words are prepostions. at, about, for, in, into, upon, with, within, and others. prepositional phrases are phrases that begin with a prepostion such as: on the floor, in the house, with her friend.
