do prepositional phrases function as premodifiers? why?
what i mean by premodifier is that the prepositional phrase which function as a modifier can preceed the noun it modifies. what i mean by premodifier is that the prepositional phrase which function as a modifier can precede the noun it modifies.

- Prepositional phrases are definitely modifiers. Sometimes they are refered to as adjective phrases and adverb phrases, depending on their function in the sentence. I've never heard the term "premodifier."
