- Hello, how are you Comment allez-vous OR comment cava (com-ahnt al-ay voo) (com-ahnt sah-vah) Whats you name? Vous vous appellez comment? OR Tu t'appelles comment? (voo vooz ap-uh-lay com-ahnt) (too tap-elle com-ahnt) I love you Je t'aime (zhuh tim) I don't speak much french je ne parle pas beaucoup de francais (zhuh nuh par-ull pah bo-koo duh frahn-say) it usually depends on who you're talking to when you ask a question. If you're asking someone you respect use the first of the two. if it's a friend use the second. I hope it helps!
- hello how are you="bonjour, comment ca va?" (bon joor, komman sa va) although in an informal setting, most people just say "ca va?" to say "how are you" and usually respond the same (ca va) to say "alright" if someone asks you "how are you" (comment ca va), and you want to say "fine thanks, and you?" say "tres bien, merci. et vous?" (tre [making the accent with the back of the throat technique] bien mersee, e [t is silent] voo) whats your name="que vous apellez-vous?"(ke voo appelle voo) it literally translates to "what do you call yourself?" i love you=je t'aime (je tem) good evening=bon soir (bon swa) goodbye=au revoir (o revwa) my name is=je m'appelle (je mappelle) i speak only english=je ne parle que l'anglais (je ne parlay ke lan glay) i speak only a little french=je parle un peu francais (je parlay un poo fronsay) do you understand me?=me comprenez-vous? (me comprenay voo) what does this mean?=que veut dire ceci? (kuh vuh deer suh-see) what is that?=qu'est-ce que c'est que ca (kes-kuh seh kuh sa) in order to pronounce the words correctly (my pronunciation directions are limited through typing) you have to have a basic understanding of french phonics...i recommend listening to french music and watching foreign french films, this way when you hear words you recognize you'll understand how they are correctly pronounced. hope i helped!
