- "A table !" (it's a french expression used to say that the dinner is ready)
- To the person who answered "A table" that is incorrect.... First of, in French, a table is "une table"... Now, some phrases you can use in French: - Bonne apetit mes amis, mangez, mangez! - Du bon pain frais, hmmm... ça sent bon - Un bon cappucino, ça fait du bien!
- "Tutti a tavola a mangiare" italian , literally means "Everyone to the table to eat," but is a very traditional way to welcome people to your table
- buon appetito! viva la pizza! colazione all'italiana:cappuccino e cornetto!
- Yes, Doctor J is right! (whereas jojo isn't), "A table!" is a very common sentence use to tell people they can come to eat. I think it's a shortcut for "venez à table" ("come at the table"). There's also "bon appétit"
- I can translate your sentence for you in Italian: Cooking can be childs play and adult fun, but cooking with care is a act of love Cucinare può essere un gioco per i più piccoli e un divertimento per i grandi, ma cucinare bene è un atto d'amore.
- Jojo is definitely wrong, plus she made mistakes when she wrote "Bon appétit!"!!! And "A table!" definitely sounds great. "L'appétit vient en mangeant": not very poetic, though (it means: The more you eat, the more hungry you get) By Pierre Dac: "De tous les arts, l'art culinaire est celui qui nourrit le mieux son homme" (Of all the arts, the culinary art is the one that feeds human beings the best - well, it sounds way better in French plus play on word because "nourrir" also implies that you can make a living out ot it, therefore being then able to enjoy life, etc.) G.B.Shaw (I don't know the original English sentence): "Il n'y a pas d'amour plus sincère que celui de la bonne chair" (There's not a love more sincere than the love for good food) "La gastronomie a été inventée pour rendre le péché de chair pardonnable" (Gastronomy has been created to make the sin of gluttony (well, don't know the exact word - food) forgivable) This one is cute: "L'oignon s'excuse auprès des femmes et les assure que s'il les fait pleurer, c'est vraiment malgré lui" (The onion apologizes to women and guarantees that if he makes them cry, it's really not on purpose)
- "A la Soupe" means the soup is ready or the dinner is ready "Le Cordon Bleu"
- I can translate that in french: Cuisiner peut être un jeu d'enfants et quelque chose de marrant pour les adultes, mais cuisiner en faisant attention est un acte d'amour. other phrases in french: A table tout le monde! C'est bon, mais c'est chaud! Le dernier arriver débarrasse! Qui veut de l'eau? On ne met pas les coudes sur la table et on se tient droit! Finis ton assiette! C'était très bon! Bon appétit, bande de gentils!
