  1. hail hitler ? danke shane = thank you auf weidersen- good bye
  2. My auntie always calls me 'schatz'...it means 'treasure'...it's like the English equivelant of calling someone 'honey' or 'baby' I guess. It's not exactly 'hip'....but it's something to say at least!
  3. Aufwiedersehen=cya , Des du nicht deutsch du mongo!!=that is not in german u dumb one.
  4. I agree with the above statement about "schatz" (darling or treasure). It is a great word to use with those close to you. "Schatzelein" (little schatz) is a great one to use with daughters/nieces/granddaughters. "Ich werde zum Hirsch" was one I always thought to be funny as an english speaker. It means you are going crazy / pulling your hair out.....not that you are going to become a deer.
  5. I'm of a different generation, so you probably don't want to know the "hip German phrases" from my day! Look here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/german/cool/index.shtml
